About

I’m a digital education leader with over a decade of experience working across higher education, learning technology and online learning development.

Currently, I am Head of Digital Learning at Edge Hill University, where I provide strategic leadership for digital learning, classroom technology, digital capability, content development and learning technology systems. My work focuses on shaping and continuously enhancing the institutional digital learning ecosystem, supporting innovation in teaching and assessment and exploring the effective and responsible use of emerging technologies across the student and staff experience.

My career has developed through a combination of strategic leadership, educational development and hands-on creative practice. Prior to my current role, I worked across a range of higher education institutions including University of Liverpool and BPP University, supporting curriculum innovation, online programme development, digital assessment and staff capability. Earlier in my career, I also ran a creative digital media company specialising in video production, web development and learning design, experience that continues to shape my practical and user-focused approach to digital education.

Alongside institutional leadership, I contribute actively to the wider higher education and digital education sector through professional networks, external reviewing, conference leadership and accreditation work. I currently serve as an External Examiner for University of Wolverhampton, reviewing accredited professional development provision for both Advance HE and SEDA. I previously co-convened the North West England special interest group for the Association for Learning Technology and co-chaired the ALT International Conference in 2024. I am also a member of the Heads of eLearning Steering Group.

In recognition of my work and leadership within the sector, I was awarded Principal Fellowship (PFHEA) by Advance HE in 2025 and received the ALT Leadership in Digital Education Award in the same year. My team was also shortlisted for the ALT Award for Digital Education Team of the Year in 2025 and Educate North Digital Innovation Award in 2023.

I’m particularly interested in the relationship between pedagogy, technology and organisational change, and how institutions can create more connected, inclusive and sustainable approaches to digital learning.

This website brings together selected projects, publications, presentations and reflections from my work across digital education and higher education leadership.
